Privacy Policy
Effective 2026/7/8
How Boafo Cash collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
This Privacy Policy is issued by COREVOLT TECH COMPANY, the company behind Boafo Cash (referred to as "we", "our", or "us" throughout this document). It describes the types of personal data we may collect when you use our app and related services, the purposes for which that data is processed, and the measures we take to protect it.
We collect only what is needed to operate our financial service platform, apply encryption to safeguard your information, and never sell or lease your personal data to outside parties. Your continued use of Boafo Cash signifies your acceptance of the practices outlined below; if you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.
1. Personal Information We Collect
When you use Boafo Cash, we may obtain personal user data of the kinds listed below. Collection is limited to what is needed to provide our services, complete identity and risk checks, administer your account, and help keep the platform secure. Where device permissions are involved (such as camera, SMS, or location), we request access only after disclosing the purpose in-app and obtaining your consent.
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
During registration or a product application, you may be asked to supply personal details that allow us to verify who you are, evaluate eligibility, review your application, and manage your account. Fields include:
- Phone number — to open your account and deliver service notices (such as OTP or repayment reminders)
- Full legal name — to match your identity and maintain accurate account records
- National ID number — for KYC checks and to meet regulatory obligations
- Educational background — as one input to our risk review process
- Employment category — to assess product eligibility and service criteria
- Marital status — as one factor in risk review and service limit assessment
- Income level — to help judge repayment capacity and support application decisions
- Bank or mobile money account details — to pay out approved loans and collect repayments
1.2 Camera Access & Identity Images
We use your device camera to capture an image of your government-issued ID and a facial image for comparison. This is used only to confirm that the person applying matches the identity document and to reduce identity theft and fraudulent applications. Captured images are encrypted in transit and at rest, and are not used for advertising or unrelated marketing.
1.3 Financial SMS Content
If you grant SMS permission, we access messages that relate to financial activity — for example bank alerts, repayment notices, billing messages, and mobile money transfer notices. We do not seek to collect private or non-financial conversations. Financial SMS signals are used only for risk analysis and security review, are transmitted and stored using encryption, and are not sold or shared for third-party marketing.
1.4 Installed App Information
We check whether certain finance-related applications (such as banking, payment, or financial service apps) are present on your device. This information helps us understand finance-related behaviour and spot unusual patterns as part of risk assessment. App list data is encrypted when sent and stored, and is not used for advertising, app ranking, or any purpose outside eligibility and risk evaluation.
1.5 Approximate Location
Where you allow it, we may collect approximate location data to help confirm that account and application activity appears consistent, identify unusual patterns, and support anti-fraud controls. Location data is sent to our servers over encrypted channels. You may revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
1.6 Device Data
We collect some data about your device — such as model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers — to support app stability, compatibility, troubleshooting, security monitoring, and detection of abnormal use. This information is transmitted using encryption and is not sold to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process personal and sensitive data only for legitimate reasons connected with operating Boafo Cash. Processing is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws in Ghana, and we restrict use to what is reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and improve our services. We do not use the data described in Section 1 for selling to brokers or for third-party advertising unrelated to our services.
2.1 Why We Process Your Data
Depending on how you use the app, your information may be processed for the following service-related purposes:
- Running Your Account — creating and maintaining your profile, authenticating access, and handling loan requests from application through completion.
- Identity Verification (KYC) — confirming identity through document capture, facial matching, and related checks to help prevent fraud and satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Application Evaluation — reviewing financial and device-related signals (including those derived from SMS and device data where permitted) to assess eligibility and set suitable limits and terms.
- Fraud Prevention & Platform Security — spotting suspicious activity, checking device integrity, and protecting users and the service from unauthorised or harmful use.
- Disbursement & Collection — sending approved funds to your nominated bank or mobile money account and tracking repayment schedules and balances.
- Customer Support — answering questions, fixing technical issues, and assisting with account or loan-related matters.
- Product & Performance Improvement — analysing usage to diagnose faults, improve reliability, and refine the user experience.
- Legal & Compliance Duties — meeting obligations under applicable laws, court orders, regulatory instructions, and lawful government requests.
2.2 Automated Decision Support
Parts of our service workflow use automated systems — including risk models — to help make consistent and timely decisions. These tools may assist with:
- Evaluating eligibility and recommending approval or decline of an application
- Suggesting loan amounts, interest rates, and repayment periods
- Flagging applications that appear potentially fraudulent or high risk
Automated processing helps us treat users in a consistent way and respond more quickly. If you disagree with an outcome that was driven by automated processing, you may contact us using the details in Section 8 and request a human review.
2.3 Data Minimisation & Purpose Limits
We aim to collect and use only personal information that is relevant and proportionate to the purposes above. In particular, we seek to ensure that data is:
- Obtained only where there is a clear operational, risk, or compliance need
- Limited in scope so that we do not hold more than the purpose requires
- Kept reasonably accurate and current where practicable
We will not process your personal data for unrelated new purposes without a lawful basis — such as your consent — except where the law requires or permits otherwise. Permission-based data (camera, SMS, location, and similar) is used only for the purposes disclosed when access is requested.
3. Sharing of Information
Your personal information is handled as confidential and is stored on systems controlled by COREVOLT TECH COMPANY. We do not disclose, sell, or transfer your data to other organisations for their own commercial or marketing use.
We may disclose personal information only where a limited and legitimate basis applies, including:
- Legal & Regulatory Obligations: Where disclosure is required by applicable law, a valid court order, a regulatory investigation, or a lawful request from a competent government authority in Ghana or elsewhere.
- Safety, Security & Rights Enforcement: Where disclosure is reasonably necessary to detect or prevent fraud, investigate suspected unlawful activity, enforce our terms of service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Boafo Cash, our users, or the public.
We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal data to data brokers, advertisers, or other third parties. Your information is never used to create advertising profiles for unrelated companies.
4. Data Protection, Retention & Deletion
Protecting the personal and sensitive user data collected through Boafo Cash is a core responsibility of COREVOLT TECH COMPANY. We apply technical, organisational, and administrative controls designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, accidental loss, misuse, alteration, or improper disclosure.
4.1 How We Secure Your Data
Depending on the type of information and the stage of processing, our safeguards may include:
- Secure Transmission: Communications between your device and our servers are protected using encrypted connections, reducing the risk of interception or tampering while data is in transit.
- Protected Storage: Personal and sensitive data held on our systems is safeguarded using industry-recognised encryption practices and access-restricted infrastructure.
- Need-to-Know Access: Staff access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel who require it for defined operational or compliance tasks. Access is controlled through authentication, role permissions, and internal oversight.
- Activity Monitoring: Where appropriate, system and data access are logged and reviewed so that unusual behaviour can be investigated and accountability maintained.
- Security Upkeep: We periodically review our security controls, apply relevant updates, and address known vulnerabilities to help keep user information confidential and intact.
4.2 How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal data only for as long as it is reasonably needed to deliver our services and to meet the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. In practice:
- While Your Account Is Active: We retain the information required to manage your profile, process loan applications, handle disbursement and repayment, and support customer service.
- After Closure or a Verified Deletion Request: Once your account is closed or a verified deletion request is accepted, we delete or permanently anonymise associated personal data within 30 calendar days, except where limited continued retention is allowed under Section 4.4.
- Records Required by Law or Regulation: Certain loan history, transaction, tax, and compliance records may be kept for longer where Ghanaian or other applicable legal, regulatory, or tax rules require it.
When a retention period ends, we take steps to securely erase or anonymise the data so that it can no longer reasonably be linked back to you.
4.3 Requesting Account & Data Deletion
If you create a Boafo Cash account, you can request that the account and the personal data linked to it be deleted. In line with Google Play's account deletion requirements, you may do so both inside the app and without needing to use the app:
- Outside the App (Web / Email): Email contact@corevolttechcompany.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request", or use the account deletion pathway published on our website. Please include the phone number linked to your account so we can verify your identity.
Account deletion page: Delete Account
After we receive and verify a valid request, we will delete your app account together with the personal data associated with it. Temporarily suspending, disabling, or "freezing" an account is not treated as account deletion. We process verified requests within a reasonable period and confirm when the process has been completed.
You may also ask us to delete specific categories of personal data — without necessarily closing your entire account — by contacting us using the details in Section 8, subject to applicable law and any legitimate retention needs described below.
4.4 Data That May Be Kept After Deletion
Even after an account has been deleted, we may need to keep a limited amount of information for legitimate reasons. Google Play's User Data policy allows such retention where it is necessary for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, or regulatory compliance. Examples include:
- Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Records we are required to keep under financial service rules, anti-money laundering requirements, tax laws, or lawful orders from competent authorities.
- Security & Fraud Prevention: Information needed to identify, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or breaches of our terms.
- Outstanding Debts & Disputes: Data relating to unpaid loan balances, repayment history, complaints, or legal claims that must be retained until the matter is resolved.
Any data kept under this section is limited to what is necessary for the stated purpose, retained only for as long as required, and remains protected under the security measures described in Section 4.1.
5. Your Data Rights
Depending on the data protection laws that apply to you — including regulations in Ghana — you may have certain rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you. Boafo Cash is committed to honouring these rights and to handling your requests in a transparent and timely manner.
5.1 Rights You May Exercise
Subject to applicable legal requirements and exceptions, you may have the right to:
- Access Your Data: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, along with details on how it was collected, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of recipients with whom it may be shared.
- Correct Inaccuracies: Ask us to update or correct personal data that you believe is incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date.
- Request Deletion: Ask us to delete your personal information where it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or where you have withdrawn consent. Account and data deletion options are described in Section 4.3 of this policy.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent — such as access to device permissions — you may withdraw that consent at any time through your device settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
- Object or Restrict Processing: In certain circumstances, you may object to specific processing activities or ask us to temporarily restrict how we use your data while a concern is being reviewed.
5.2 How to Submit a Request
To exercise any of the rights above, please contact us using the details in Section 8. When submitting a request, include sufficient information to help us verify your identity — such as the phone number registered to your Boafo Cash account — so we can protect your data from unauthorised access. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Please note that withdrawing consent or revoking certain device permissions (for example, camera, SMS, or location access) may limit or prevent you from using some features of Boafo Cash, including the ability to complete a loan application.
5.3 Complaints
If you believe your privacy rights have not been respected, you are welcome to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection or supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
6. Policy Changes & Acceptance
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable laws, regulatory guidance, or our internal data handling practices. When we make changes, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page so you can identify the most current version.
6.1 How We Notify You of Changes
If an update materially affects how we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to inform you before the changes take effect. Depending on the nature of the change, notification may include an in-app notice within Boafo Cash, a notice on our website, or another appropriate method. The latest version of this policy will always be available at https://www.corevolttechcompany.com/privacy.html.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
6.2 Your Choices After an Update
This Privacy Policy was first published on 2026/7/8. By continuing to access or use Boafo Cash after an updated policy becomes effective, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the revised terms. If you do not agree with any updated practices, you should stop using our services and may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 4.3.
7. Children's Data
Boafo Cash is intended for adults aged 18 and above only. Our services are not directed at children or minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we discover that data from a person under 18 has been submitted, we will delete it without undue delay. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, please contact us using the details in Section 8.
